After fooling around with cardboard templates, which seemed to work fine at first (no, the wire doesn't get hot enough to burn cardboard), it became apparent that something sturdier is necessary. A day was wasted trying to reinforce edges with aluminum foil. Result: sucks. Made one template out of 3/16 lauan plywood, another one coming tomorrow ( Read more... )

Since the materials are not here yet, and building process will take a while (and I mean, a *while*), I've built an X-Plane model of Sky Pup so I can have at least an idea of how it flies. I'm sure it's a rather crude model, although, I used the official plans for modeling it, so, hopefully, it's somewhat close.
